LogistiVIEW's Over-Time Tracking Tool is a web-based tool that automatically assigns workers to needed overtime shifts based on your union contract requirements, worker preferences, worker's desired shifts and the needs of over-time hours. Management simply provides over-time needs. Workers request overtime based on those needs. Once the needs and requests have been entered, LogistiVIEW will assign workers based on their requests and preferences. When "forced overtime" is required, workers are assigned based on seniority and job qualification rules setup within LogistiVIEW. A record is kept to track why all workers were assigned to shifts (and why they weren't!) providing the ability to defend any dispute.
Grocerers Success With Compliance
A regional grocery in the NorthEast with a unionized workforce was looking for a better solution to assign workers to over-time shifts within their warehouses.
Defendable proof the rules were followed and they were in compliance with their union contract as well as meeting the desires of the workers.
Although the grocery had a custom built tool, they struggled to make updates and the needs were exceeding the tools capabilities. They turned to LogistiVIEW for a better over-time scheduling tool so they could ensure contract compliance and have a documented tracking of all over-time shifts assigned (and why!). Taking the human-assignment out of the process provided better assurance the contract rules were being followed and a history of events with documented proof.
LogistiVIEW's Overtime scheduling tools was implemented in the Spring of 2022. Workers were able to sign-up for desired overtime shifts and assignments were made based on those requests. When additional staff was needed to fill all over-time slots, LogistiVIEW automatically assigned the appropriate worker based on their job qualifications and seniority. LogistiVIEW tracked all of the decision making and proof was in hand. When a worker questioned their over-time assignment, the operations team was able to defend why a worker was assigned to the shift. Happy warehouse, happy worker!
